Created to showcase gaming's greatest figures from past and present, the Characters of Gaming series gives gaming's best the recognition that they deserve.  Without these superstars, the industry wouldn't be what it is today. 

Now that the media is getting older, videogames have the increasing opportunity to remake old titles.  Such is the case with today's character, Rick from the old sidescrolling Splatterhouse series who will be starring in a current-gen update for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Why he made the cut:
After being attacked by demons, Rick girlfriend is dragged inside an old mansion dubbed "Splatterhouse" by the locals due to the odd experiments that go on inside its walls.  Later, Rick awakes in the mansion's basement after being knocked unconscious with the ancient artifact, the "Terror Mask" attached to his face.  The mask turns Rick into a Jason Voorhies look-a-like that also happens to be a killing machine that puts the splatter in Splatterhouse as he searches the mansion for his girlfriend.
